More about this ottawa condo
“The Slater. It’s more than just an address. It’s a lifestyle you’ll love.”
Welcome to Ottawa’s “it” address - and the city’s most spectacular new condo hotel residence. The Slater is a stunning structure that offers the perfect combination of classic and contemporary, envisioned by Richard Chmiel Architect & Associates Inc.
Inspired by the clean, square lines of the mid-century towers that surround it, it marries a hip 1950s aesthetic with a thoroughly modern sensibility. Minimalist interiors by II BY IV are cool, classic, and understated. The Slater is beautiful, sleek - and eternally chic.
The residences are paired with a new hotel, creating a truly unique opportunity to own a home in the city’s first condo/hotel hybrid.
Understated and elegant, The Slater is undeniably lovely, inside and out. The graphic black and white exterior is a nod to the streamlined genius of mid-century design. A bold black grid overlays clean white elements, evoking the iconic design of a well-known French fragrance, with all the allure and sophistication to match.
The Slater is beautiful by day, but when the sun goes down, it’s nothing short of breathtaking. A series of glass boxes light up the darkness, creating geometric patterns of light, adding warmth and drama to the streetscape and illuminated the night.
Cut marble shaped into dramatic chevron patterns is the focal point of The Slater’s beautiful entryway. Sedate slate grey walls are balanced by playful saucers of light. Mid-century inspired furniture graces the edges of the space, tempering its contemporary lines with inviting softness and warmth.
It’s nothing if not elegant, and it’s perfect entry into the high-design luxury that defines The Slater.
With nine foot ceilings, hardwood floors, European inspired kitchens, and open, modern interiors by design powerhouse II BY IV, The Slater meets the high standards of discerning buyers at every turn. Each element has been fully thought out, every finish carefully selected. Cohesive spaces flow beautifully, and natural light streams in through dramatic floor to ceiling windows. Welcome to a new level of luxury.
Amenities
The expansive indoor-outdoor amenities area at The Slater is second to none. Inside, you’ll find a well-equipped fitness centre, luxurious lounge, along with a dining area and private screening room. On the terrace, there’s a hot tub along with several cozy seating areas perfect for sunbathing or socializing.
Sleek, chic and elegant, the Club Lounge combines rich, dark colours and appealing texture for a luxurious, intimate refuge. Comfortable seating surrounds two contemporary marble fireplaces, creating a warm environment that’s perfect for sophisticated parties or quiet conversations.
This beautiful, modern dining room is designed for formal entertaining. A perfect balance of hard and soft, it features warm woods with smooth white marble, soft seating and streamlined, contemporary lines. A dramatic chandelier dominates the space, massive barn doors glide shut for privacy, and a well-equipped, thoughtfully designed kitchen makes entertaining easy.
Intimate, comfortable and completely inviting, the screening room at The Slater is the perfect place to host an upscale movie night or have friends over to watch the big game. Featuring a massive screen, state of the art video equipment, and lots of luxurious seating, it’s an ideal setting for an entertaining evening.
Twenty-two storeys above the street, The Slater’s glass-enclosed penthouses soar out over the city. Sleep, contemporary suites are surrounded by spacious terraces - and unbelievable views of Ottawa’s business district and beyond. Each of the ten expansive penthouses has a unique design; single-storey and two-storey layouts offer open concept living with a focus on light, space and stunning design.
Upscale Living, Right Downtown
Located in the centre of the financial district, The Slater’s exclusive residences are at the heart of downtown Ottawa. The best of the city - green spaces, world-class dining, wonderful shopping, exciting entertainment - are all just a short walk away.
Take in the Tulip Festival on Parliament Hill. Go walking or running along the Rideau Canal. Do your Saturday morning shopping at the Byward Market. Take your dog for a run in Confederation Park. Walk to the city’s best restaurants, entertainment venues, shopping and more. You’re at the centre of it all.
Downtown Ottawa has changed, and it isn’t just a destination for conservative business lunches anymore. Popular with Ottawa residents looking for great shopping and dining, the area has blossomed into an exciting, cosmopolitan hotspot with excellent shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
Hy’s Steakhouse is one street over, and you’ll find everything from upscale sushi to Moroccan cuisine within minutes of home. Pick up your morning latte at Starbucks at Holt’s around the corner, or visit the exclusive members-only Rideau Club on Bank. Imagine living right in the middle of Ottawa’s downtown renaissance.
There’s nothing like going to the market on a sunny day. One of Canada’s oldest (and largest) public markets, Byward is four vibrant city blocks of food, shopping, entertainment and more.
Home to a wonderful farmers’ market and over 260 local artisans, it’s a shopping and entertainment mecca with everything from galleries and museums, restaurants and cafes, speciality food shops, bookshops, hair salons, clothing boutiques, and more. And there’s no better place to pick up a BeaverTail and coffee.
Just a couple of blocks north, there’s beautiful Parliament Hill, a perfect place for cycling and scenic walks. One of the most spectacular examples of Gothic Revival style anywhere in the world, it’s the focal point for the annual Tulip Festival, the site of the best Canada Day celebrations in the country, summer’s daily Sound and Light Show, and, of course, the breathtaking Christmas Lights Across Canada display in December.
Just south of downtown you’ll find a vibrant neighbourhood with a completely different feel. Young, hip and up-and-coming, Centretown is seeing an influx of retailers, restaurants and other businesses that are turning this quiet district into an appealing destination.
Visit a great mom and pop diner, pick up dessert in a charming little cupcake shop, check out one of Ottawa’s quirkiest seafood restaurants and shop at a great health food store with everything from vitamin shakes to gluten-free goodies.
Residents at The Slater are within walking distances of two of Ottawa’s fenced in dog parks. Jack Purcell Park is within a 16 minute walk and is located on the corner of Frank St and Elgin St. This park has a two gate entrance. The first gate allows you to prepare your dog to enter the park and there is also a water fountain for your use and a spout closer to the ground for your dog. The second gate allows you into the park where there is lots of room for your dog to play. The park is open from 6am to 10pm and closed from 10pm to 6am.
Within an 11 minute walk of The Slater is the Tech Wall Dog Park that is located on the corner of Slater St and Bronson Ave. This dog park has lots of room for running and playing and is also the most infamous spot to get some amazing Instagram shots because of the graffiti wall in the background. This dog park is open from 5am till 11pm.
