more about this ottawa condo

Location, Location, Location! Somerset Gardens provides urban living in the heart of Ottawa’s Golden Triangle. Built in 2008, 138 Somerset stands out with the modern exterior design and notable floor to ceiling windows. This building is perfect for those looking to have a modern, minimalist, open-concept living space that is minutes away from the excitement of downtown Ottawa.

Majority of the units feature hardwood and tiled flooring (in the foyer/entrance), high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling balcony windows in the living/dining space, and large bedrooms that also have either hardwood or carpet flooring. The open concept kitchens feature lots of cabinet space, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, as well as an extended kitchen island with an eat-up breakfast bar.

The building features a number of amenities including a rooftop bbq, patio and gardens, penthouse sunroom, library, amenities room, and bicycle storage.

Residents at Somerset Gardens are only steps away from Elgin St where they can enjoy brunch on a patio, run along the canal, shop at Nordstrom, or dine at any one of the top restaurants in the area. The building is just steps to Parliament Hill, Rideau Centre Shopping Mall, City Hall, bicycle and running paths, the University of Ottawa, etc. For groceries, it is just a short walk to the Hartman's Independent Grocer and Farm Boy. For those that use public transportation to get to and from work or at your leisure, the Parliament LRT station is a short 13 minute walk from your front door. The LRT will bring you through the downtown core to either Tunney’s Pasture or out to the east end at Blair Station.

Residents at Somerset Gardens with dogs are within an 8 minute walk of the three well known fenced in dog parks in downtown Ottawa. Jack Purcell Park is located on the corner of Frank St and Elgin Street, just down the street from Elgin Street Diner. Jack Purcell Park has a two gate entrance. The first gate allows you to prepare your dog to enter the fenced in dog park where there is also a water fountain for your use and a spout closer to the ground for your dog. The second gate allows you into the park where there is lots of room for your dog to play as well as some shaded benches and tables to relax at. The park is open from 6am to 10pm and closed from 10pm to 6am.
